I had the pleasure of giving a talk on Chronic DVT management at the Asia Pacific Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology outreach program. The lectures are aimed at teaching up and coming Interventional radiologists and Endovascular specialists on venous disease. We reviewed the large clinical trials on venous stenting and the long term results offered by catheter directed thrombolysis and stenting in the prevention of post-thrombotic syndrome.
It is worth mentioning that Dr Jae Wook Kim gave an excellent lecture on the treatment of testicular vein embolisation for varicocele. He runs a large hospital in Seoul Korea offering interventional radiology treatments for patients with varicocele and shares his invaluable experience on how to manage the difficult cases. Such an excellent forum to meet other like-minded IRs around the world and a great discussion on current practice on venous disease.
